As far as that memory thing about killing someone who had me at gun point, I'll work through the anguish and find a way live with it.
You can sell the TV actually.

You should watch the Death Wish movies lowing, you might relate to Paul Kersey, personal though I relate more to Travis Bickle.

Pawn shops in FL make you give a thumb print along with name & ID.  However Craigslist...

i'd say a theft of a TV and the value associated with the resale possibly comes to a bit more than nicking a joint of meat from the freezers.

of course i live in the real world, i could be wrong.

Steal one $2000 tv, or one $5 loaf of bread.

You do the math.

Run to your starving family with a big screen strapped to your back trying not to get caught, or run to them with coat pockets full of ACTUAL food. No math necessary.

Or maybe pawn the fuckin' gun you stuck to your victims head instead?? I dunno, call me crazy. Then again I am not the one thinking these assholes were actually looking to find food for their starving families.

Put it this way, give a man a fish, he isn't hungry for a day. Teach a man to fish and he never goes hungry the rest of his life.

There is more benefit stealing a tv, if you're going to steal and run the risk of getting caught/shot you go for the larger reward. Larger monetary reward is the tv.

And as for the selling the gun argument, they might need that as a means to survive for multiple reasons. Living on the street is dangerous, as you can probably hazard a guess, and in this instance, would/could be the means for their livelihood. Stealing to survive.

You're next counter argument that is completely off topic and direction will no doubt be that not everyone steals to survive.

Some do.

Nope, he is stealing it because for him, it is easier to rob from someone else who has earned it, than it is to earn it his self.

If you asked the majority of Americans on the street for food, ( and not money to buy food, no one believes that bullshit) they wouldtake you to a store and buy you a bag of groceries. Why? Because we are generous people. A hint though, you will not win much sympathy from us pointing a gun at our heads. Or vote more money out of our pockets, which is the same thing.

you know what, I rarely say this, but you are an idiot. I do love it however, you sympathize with a thug pointing a fuckin gun at a guy trying to make an honest living, who by the way, is also trying to bring food home to his family via a fuckin' paycheck more than you do the victim. Gotta love a bleeding heart fuckin' liberal and their logic.

Oh I have every sympathy for the victim.

But I do not consider the perpetrator any less human.

How come you always think we sympathize with the thug and not the victim?

I'm not even close to sympathizing with the thug in this case, my point was a 40" TV in a truck isn't something worth getting killed for ... only time I would consider retaliating in such a case is if my family was in danger ... I can always get new stuff, it's way harder replacing family ...

I agree, but I do not want to listen to this bullshit about this poor guy needed to steal a fuckin' 40 inch tv because he has a starving family at home, and has no other way to provide for them but to commit armed robbery.

Already said, if this guy truly needed food, most every American on the street would provide him food. For greater effect, bring your starving kid with you while you ask for FOOD ( and not money). I guarantee, he will go home with a stolen car full of groceries.

you sympathize with the criminal because you can relate to him. you know what it is like to steal from earners. He uses a gun, you use socialized govt. and invent new and greater taxes.

Once i bought a .25 cent cup of lemonade for 20 dollars from a group of kids selling it on the corner. I recognize them trying to EARN a living by working for it, and I wanted to reward their efforts.

Can we not debate about shit? Kerry got robbed and all Lowing cares about is creating some bullshit argument about how every socialist is equivalent to a thug. We have other fine threads to debate on such issues.
