Help Please

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I think so.

I used to play this game about a year and a half ago. My computer got wiped and I lost everything. I decided to reinstall this game today, and I went to play online, and it said I didn't have the same version as the games I wanted to join. I had forgot to Patch. So I downloaded the 1.5 patch, and went to install it, but it said I already had a newer version installed. hmm. So then I tried to play online again, but to no avail.

So, if anyone knows what's wrong with my game, or what patch I should download, that would be great to tell me. Thanks.

Try re-installing BF2 then patch, if that don't work try re downloading the 1.5 patch maybe it's corrupted.
Make sure the 1.5 patch is from a decent site, a lot of websites specially torrent have the patch listed as 1.5 but it is 1.41, or a 1.5 beta
If not then I don't know, when you do get it working though download the PBSetup (punkbuster) and update that too, I check mine couple times a week

Did you download the full 1.5 patch or just the incremental, if the latter you'll also need 1.41 downloaded and installed first.

You need to first install the game, then FULL 1.41 patch, then 1.41 to 1.5 patch.
