And yeah if you can get a ton of financial aid from one of the ivies, and you like the school(s), then you might as well go. Free prestige.

I'll probably go to a Ivy for graduate maybe?Hurricane2k9 wrote:

In terms of amenities, too, the experience is a lot better.Hurricane2k9 wrote:

Go to the best grad school in the area you're studying that you can afford. Ivy doesn't always mean best. For example, UT Austin's accounting program is #1 in the nation (at least for undergrad).=NHB=Shadow wrote:

And yeah nuk you Ivies do have nice amenities there are a good amount of non-ivies, both private and public with nice amenities as well (Virginia Tech's been voted as having the best campus food).

Yes, yes, we do. They spend a ridiculous amount of money on things, which I appreciate. About the only thing I wish they spent more money on would be importing girls from colleges like UT-Austin and UF so that a) the ratio would not suck as much as it does (slightly more guys + disparity in party attendance/going out = really unfavorable conditions) and b) the attractiveness level would increase.

here I come. I'll be in cowami's homefront lolz
Spoiler (highlight to read):
unless of course I can still get into Albany after being deferred, which is a major possibility... but I think I prefer Pace's location
My brother goes to SUNY Albany. Good area, good professors. (I live near Albany as well)

Fr srs, it's not like it's any less expensive to go across the pond. Even the study abroad program my uni has pretty much fucks over anyone who isn't in a Liberal Arts or foreign language major, too.

Brown is more into the drug scene, I've been told, assuming you meant Columbia the university, rather than Colombia the country.Uzique wrote:

Anyways, for Americans, Ivy League schools are no more expensive than Oxford or Cambridge (and for students on FA are less), so I think you should revise you statement to be something like:
"fuck ivy league, I like wasting my money at the faux-prestige of an english university surpassed 100 years ago by it's american counterpart"
Sound good?

Belgium, the country where pretty much all universities beg you to join, grades are of no importance. You'll only fail if you're stupid :p
Just applied to University.
Queens, Waterloo, U Toronto
Hope I get in D:

tell the average american you went to harvard and they'll be like "shoooooot, you're smart!"

I don't think that helps our argument. The "average American" is a dumbass, perhaps to that extent that they're unaware of Oxford/Cambridge etc.Hurricane2k9 wrote:

Yeah, seriously; being impressed at Harvard is a clear sign of ignorance.DesertFox- wrote:
