We have l4d and recently started playing it again.
L4D, do it, or L4D2 if you've got the money. Bought it a year ago, still play it frequently, and with the amount of mod content out there now (more maps here) It'll keep you busy for a long time.

Create a black character named Negrodamus, or some other fun name. Troll trade chat with racist remarks, get banned, rinse, repeat. or you can actually play the game with friends, either choice is fun.

i played on a norm server with a black paladin. i was getting banned like once a week at my peak of trolling, it was real easy too. i was sad when they changed one of the weapons in the game from The Nicker to The Blackrock Slicer. that thing added a lot of lulz. plus the whole Nagas belong in slave pens, naga stole my bike, so on and so forth. the fun part wasn't from that, no the fun part was the actual raids and recording members on ventrillo. the people who raid take it FAR too seriously and the best laughs come from that.Arc wrote:

WoW can fuck right off and that is our consensus, so if we could steer the conversation away from that that would be sweet.
Other MMOs get the shafted as they carry the same genre as WoW.
We have L4D1 and we're getting to the point of playing it out. Not to mention the fact that our fourth is flaky/incredibly shitty when he plays kinda fucks up L4D.
It's funny you mention SOASE FFLink, we actually played that a fair bit before and might get into it again. The problem is it's practically impossible to play such long games on multiplayer. Still we'll probably install it again.
PR is slow. Some of us don't even want to play normal BF2 because it isn't intense enough, so I don't think PR will go over well.

Forgotten Hope 2 is a great bf2 mod if thats kinda what you want. Teamwork really makes that mod a lot of fun. plus its got realism but it doesn't over do it like PR. Tanks are fun to bomb around in, aircraft are well done, there are plenty of city and inf maps to play.
eve really is nothing like WoW

bit oldschool, but me and some guys from school had a ton of fun playing old RTS's on lans w/e. Project reality is also fucking ace if you're playing in good squads. Failing that, BF2142 is actually pretty amazing if played in a team/

Have you tried Quake Wars:ET FM?
That game requires teamplay and is very rewarding in that manor ... you can make your own Clan ingame and join eachother on the same team as opposed to in 2142 ...

Not paying $50 for L4D2, and probably not $150 for 4 either. Maybe when the price comes down.
