Im not sure what the best wattage to get to charge two laptops while im on an 8 hour drive. I really don't want to burn out the cigarrete lighter thing. Oh yeah the inverter has to be at best buy because i have to get it today or tomorrow.

Thanks.

Considering most laptops are 60 Watts, I'd say anything over 200 Watts should be fine. They all have built in fuses, as does the cigarette lighter thing itself. I beleive it's either a 15 or a 20 Amp fuse. Just bring an extra one to be sure. They're only like $1 at any auto parts store.

Why not just get a 12V laptop charger or two?
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

This would make the most sense.

I looked at the back of my laptop and I saw that it said 120W, so I would be safe with an 175W power inverter. What if I used both laptops?

If you aren't playing heavy 3D games or similar stuff, your laptop won't ever use more than 60W tops. When you're just browsing the web, most only use about 20-30. But I still don't see why you would take the extra step of an inverter when there are plenty of laptop car chargers available.

Most of those chargers are just generic Chinese copies. They're usually universal. Ask in the store.
