Is this the same for other European countries? like the Netherlands?BEE_Grim_Reaper wrote:
Right... there has been some confusion lately on how German players are supposed to get the Euro Forces Booster pack since Credit Cards for the EA Downloader are not that common here as they are in the US.
There will be a "boxed" version available in standard Software Stores. This box will be at €9,99 (estimate). However, this box will contain NO CD or DVD but an internet URL and a unique download code. Using this URL, the Code and you Gamespy ID (that is your account name without the Clan Tag), you will be able to get the booster pack online. The download will be approximately 350 MB.
The estimated publishing date in Germany will be February 23rd.

would be cool. I don't have a credit card either but I want to help Europe
though Germany is not that far away. I jump on the train go have some fun in Achen or something and return that evening to install EF

As I stated a couple of posts above: It does not seem so. Apparently, Germany is so far the only one having the possibility to go into a store and at least buy the box with the download instructions inside... on the Netherlands, there are no definite informations though it looks like it will be eadownloader only...RDMC wrote:

May I remind you, that Battlefield 2 contains portions of Gamespy? (hence the nice "powered by Gamespy" left of the punkbuster button at the bottom of the screen. By creating a Battlefield 2 account you basically HAVE created a Gamespy ID. And it is exactly that account name without the prefix, that you need here.JimCognito wrote:
semi related question here.....
Concerning downloading via EA, do I need to have a gamespy ID? I mean, I HATE gamespy and have had legal issues with them (charging me for re-subscription when I never authorized that years ago). My credit card company took care of it and its all fine. I hate that company and do not want their crappy software on my pc ever again.
Well I know alot of in game browsers are "Powered by Gamespy" or to put it more clearly "innaccurate pings and filters that don't work properly are powered by Gamespy". I did not however install arcade when I installed the game. There is always an option not to do that in any game. I use the All Seeing Eye like I have for years. Unfortunately that damn program is not updated worth a shit anymore and you have to rely on user made updates but it's still WAY better than that ad filled, 14 year old chat room, "I'm way better at pwning noobs than you are" piece of crap gamespy.
Thanks for the info about the ID though. I just didn't want to have to go and set up another damn ID through that crap ass rip off of a company.

You're welcome
Phew... i just looked it up and fortunately can say: same thing as for germany goes for austria. i already wondered how i would be able to get it having no credit card. but now... feelin' fine.
except of one thing... i also hate gamespy. i don't want to create an account there
edit: ermm... i might want to read the above posts before replying... looks like that gamespy-account-thing has been cleared already... sorry

You want a boxed version of EF but don't want to take a train to Germany?
EBAY !!!
Simple as that, I bought my version on eBay and these people in Germany are selling lots of copies and sending worldwide !!
Go to eBay and search for Euro Force in games and consoles..
