So here at work I've got a laptop that needs to connect to 1 of 2 wireless networks available in the plant.  1 network shows up fine, the other usually does not show up.

1st network we will call Alpha and the 2nd Bravo to avoid confusion.

Alpha and Bravo are both supposed to show up on the wireless list.  Only Alpha shows up.  Bravo is not being detected.  HOWEVER, on a separate laptop both Alpha and Bravo are showing up, so I know both networks are up.  I see Alpha, I can connect to Alpha.

Now here is the kooky part.  Just now, Bravo showed up but I was unable to connect.  No error message or anything, simply "Windows cannot connect to Bravo network, please select another."

I know the wireless card is working because I can see and connect to Alpha.  I know Alpha and Bravo are working because I can connect to both on other laptops.  It would seem that everything is working and my laptop just has a quarrel with Bravo.

But what confuses me the most is that even if there were some issue with Bravo that would not allow my laptop to connect, it should STILL be able to see it broadcasting.  It treats it as if nothing is there and Alpha is the only network broadcasting a signal.

I have checked the settings on the laptop and everything seems legit, DHCP enabled, Auto IP configs set on TCP/IP and IPv4 &IPv6, public network ID and public file sharing are enabled, and the laptop is even a member of the domain who wireless signal I'm trying to connect to.

I's be stumped.

Hmm, off hand, I'd ask what are the wireless types (a/b/g/n/etc) and what channel are they broadcasting on?

If they're both a (let's say) and alpha is channel 4 and bravo is channel 5, your card might not be strong enough to pick out a weaker bravo channel, so it only sees alpha, snd, if enough "i'm different!" messages get through on bravo's channel 5, the comp will see it, but not be able to connect.

tldr: stand next to each wireless transmitter, see what you get.

Do you have a program to handle your wireless card i.e., intel proset/wireless?

Could be some interference on the Bravo channel, the Bravo channel is a bit weak or maybe your card is a bit crappy for that channel for some reason.
I had a load of trouble with someone down the road using the same wireless channel as me.
