fuck it i already have loads of smart black straight/slim jeans. i NEED the grey. i bought loads of flannel/plaid shirts from all saints recently and they have that worn-hobo/faded look that just doesn't blend or play well with dark-black denim. grey/faded blue are the ideal. i might just go with one of the skate-brands like ken listed (e.g. element) cause even though they aint fashion-tidy, they're tight and well fitting and durable, too. just to give you an idea the jeans have to go with shirts like this:

and a blazer/sports coat can work with jeans depending on the jacket and jeans of course, you can't just make a blanket rule that they don't work unless you have no clue.
