Tried to fix my altenator today, got frozen to the bone, fought against it for an hour, lost. Plus I lost some blood tonight so methinks taking it to a garage is looking pretty nice

The altenator died so replacing it involves taking the bumper off, the head lights out, radiator out, mass airflow sensor out. I was trying to see if I could preform surgery by removing the mass air flow sensor and air box to see if I could avoid the above, utterly failed

German cars are always much more complicated than your average car. If you are too cheap or too broke to take it to a BMW dealer to get it fixed than you are better off getting a cheap Japanese car.

Well I had the part, had the ambition and had most of the tools but it was 2•c and the cold destroyed me. On any othe occsion I would have done it myself but I was just too cold, book in with a garage tomorrow
