BF2S Forums Tips Pistol and Knife

http://www.secretsofbattlefield.com/ has some good guides on how to get these done.  They are pretty easy once you actually commit to getting them.  My thing with knifes is that I always dive and then knife.  Standing up even when you're directly behind a person doesn't always give you the kill.

i got my basic pistol and veteran knife in the same round lol on karkand...now i gotta go for the expert knife hishhh

For pistol kills try playing sniper.  Hit them once with your rifle and then switch to your pistol to finish them off while they are trying to figure out where you are.

For knife kills you really need to use the commander's UAV to get the drop on people.  I did it as a medic, nice to be able to heal up in between fights.

Go sniper, and take m95, first shot with rifle finish him with pistol. Personally, I find this normally wouldnt give me enough kills to get the badge but it might add a couple here or there that will push you over the top. In addition thier silenced pistol makes all but the most vigilant enemies not even know what hit them if they are not looking your direction.

Most important thing when you get into a situation where they know you are there and know you are shooting at them is to remain calm, and pull the trigger fast BUT make sure each shot counts. If you start flaiing wildly while they are reloading thier noob tube, or pumping rounds back into thier DAO12 then you are as good as dead.

For pistol only kills the trick is to unload as fast as you can into the guy while still keeping the cursor realativly still. 9/10 times he is using a full automatic weapon that will rip you apart if you don't get the drop on him. I find 'camping' certian places worked a little bit better. Places where you:
-have terrain advantage,
-are easily able to pick out targets
-is a common path for people given the current flag ownership configuration
-this common path would generally have them moving parralel to your facing, so you only need to account for recoil and slight lateral movement.

Some examples might be if people will be coming around a building, or through a hole in the fence, pick a position that will give you free reign on them for a second or 2 before they can easily pick you out.

The second alternative is get some sort of speed pad that does auto fire and use the pistol like a close combat machine gun. I don't know how well this works, but from my experince with the pistol and its accuracy it wouldnt be much worse than the engineer SMG.
