A Wichita man who police say became concerned for the passengers of a car sitting outside of his home in the cold, was stabbed with an ice pick and robbed by them.
The man reported spotting two people sitting in the car outside of his home early Sunday at about 3:30 a.m. in the 4200 block of South Bartlow Drive in Wichita.
When he approached the vehicle to offer help, the passenger of the car jumped out cursing him and demanding money, according to police.
The victim gave one of the suspects the cash he had in his pocket and was then stabbed once in the abdomen with an ice pick.
The man was able to drive himself to Via Christi-St. Joseph hospital before being transferred to Via Christi-St. Francis for treatment.
