Hmm, the problem with getting an outdated GFX card is that he'll be kicking himself if he wants something new that he can't run, and has to fork out again for a new GFX capable of running it. I would bite the bullet and buy one.

True, but £60 is quite a lot over budget, i'd personally buy the 5770 but if £500 is the limit...
I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.

Meh, it's up to him, he might go for it when he sees this. But if he doesn't, he might face problems dans la future.
