Following on from my new found love of anything google I decided to give Chrome a second chance.

I've really started loving it and I'm considering having it replace Firefox as my browser of choice.

However, I'm having a really annoying problem with it....

About 10ish seconds from opening the browser the rest of my computer hangs, the browser is still responsive as are other programs but Windows things don't seem to work. eg task bar, dragging windows around, highlighting icons on the desktop, even task manager.

If I close Chrome (works fine using the cross at the top) everything instantly goes back to normal!

wtf....

Any ideas guys?!

Chrome is evil and breaks things in the most strange ways.

I hate it with a passion because it is by far the most difficult browser to support.

I recommend that you delete it, reformat your system and never let Chrome anywhere near it again.

Only thing I can think of is uninstall/re-install.

Sober enough to know what I'm doing, drunk enough to really enjoy doing it

Whenever I start up chrome it takes forever to load up. Both in terms of actually starting up, and also in terms of when it says "resolving proxy"

Firefox and Opera start up much faster. I've searched for a solution to the "resolving proxy" problem but there isn't, Chrome is a pretty awful browser to be honest. Slower than FF, and doesn't even have adblock and or the spell check thing. I see no reason to use another browser from Firefox at this point.

The only time I use Chrome is when I'm at school, it's the only other browser I can get my hands on. An improvement on IE6, but still pretty shit.

And since I left school I'm never gonna use it again.

Or is it just to be different?! .

For me Chrome starts up literally instantly loading from my SSD, Firefox takes a few seconds. So it's good speed wise, I just don't understand what's causing the problem. After maybe a minute or so it all 'unfreezes'.

And you never will understand. That's the biggest problem with Chrome. It works all wrong and is nigh on impossible to troubleshoot problems for.
