New hard drive, not showing up

So I got a new hard drive [http://www.frys.com/product/5947234?sit … 20Pod:Pod4] plugged it in, turned on the computer and it spun up and showed up in the bios. When vista booted it didn't show up when I opened up the "Computer" tab. It shows up in the device manager...? So the computer recognizes that it's there, but I can't access it, I can't find anywhere to format it. Did I miss something or is it busted? I didn't think I had to worry about jumpers or master/slave or primary/secondary drives with SATA drives...

Does it matter which numbered slot on the motherboard it's plugged into?
