It's alot faster for me. Plus the new Personas thing is a nice touch. Quite a nice update. The speed, I don't know why there's such an increase, everything just seems to work so much better. Probably cos I'm using an old PC.

What’s new in Firefox 3.6:

Below are some of the coolest features of Firefox 3.6:

    * Personas: Personalize the look of your Firefox by selecting new themes called Personas in a single click and without a restart
    * Plugin Updater: To keep you safe from potential security vulnerabilities, Firefox will now detect out of date plugins
    * Stability improvements: Firefox 3.6 significantly decreased crashes caused by third party software – all without sacrificing our extensibility in any way
    * Form Complete: When filling out an online form, Firefox suggests information for fields based on your common answers in similar field
    * Performance: Improved JavaScript performance, overall browser responsiveness, and startup time
    * Open Video and Audio: With the world’s best implementation of HTML 5 audio and video support, now video can be displayed full screen and supports poster frames

What’s New Under the Hood for Developers

    * Support for the latest HTML5 specification, including the File API for local file handling
    * Font Support: In addition to OpenType and TrueType fonts, 3.6 now supports the new Web Open Font Format (WOFF)
    * CSS gradients: Supports linear and radial CSS gradients which allow for a smoother transition between colors
    * Device orientation: Firefox 3.6 exposes the orientation of the laptop or device to Web pages

How to get Mozilla Firefox 3.6:

Firefox 3.6 is available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux in more than 70 languages – more platforms and languages than any other browser! You can download Firefox 3.6 at www.firefox.com.

Oh nice, will give me something to do tonight. I did think FF was a bit of a dinosaur to start up too, i thought it was just me.

Everyone talks about how fast Chrome is but out of the three browsers I have on this PC; Firefox, Safari and Chrome. Chrome is easily the slowest. I click on it, and it takes an age to load up and "Resolve the proxy" whatever that means, before I finally get the Google homepage. Even browsing isn't that fast.

I don't understand the wankfest over Chrome. Does it even have Ad block or an equivalent?

This new 3.6 just made FF a whole lot better. I could never get used to the other browsers.

I tried chrome and it opened a few seconds faster than firefox but I needed my addons! + chrome made the rest of my computer hang for some reason.

Got the update, personas are cool, I'm sticking with a transparent theme though.

Doesn't this version support GPU rendering and therefore getting nice speed boost?

And all good for me.

I like it, I don't see any difference in speed but it has always been fast for me.

I didn't think it could be much faster than it was, but now that this is out I am amazed of the speed boost. 3.6 with SSD = FTW.

It doesnt seem much faster, but I think thats the DNS here   When I use Google's DNS its incredibly fast, but printing doesnt work so I have to use the proper one.  Is there a way to get network printing and use Google's DNS?

Takes less than one second for Firefox to open   All of my add-ons work so that is all good. Just noticed the red line that appears when you misspell a word  has become more "wavy"   I like FF 3.6

Ad Block Plus, Download Status Bar, Chatzilla if you're into IRC, Photobucket uploader is also pretty handy.

Personally I use noscript... Alot of people use adblock to remove adds, I think noscript works wonders

Can't say it's any faster for me Maybe it's just the X25-M G2 that's helping here
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

This

FF 3.6 isn't actually much faster than the older version. So far I've liked the Personas thing. Only problem is that some elements tend to blend into the background.
