ASUS T91MT... no 3G, but considering that the iPad doesn't have 3G in all of its models, I think this is a fair comparison (Apple iPad starts at $499, this machine is $529 on NewEgg)
So seeing as how the only thing the iPad has that most netbooks don't is a touchscreen and 3G (but only in the upper models), the list from here on out would be just things the netbook has that the iPad does not... The things that jump out is that this particular netbook has an SDHC card reader, USB ports, a webcam and a VGA output port. But then, pretty much every netbook has identical specs, the only thing that really changes is whether or not it has a touchscreen and/or 3G. The iPad also only has GPS on the Wifi+3G model, which in all cases of the iPad is a roughly $130 upgrade. I can get a USB GPS unit for a lot less than that or even buy a dedicated GPS unit for around $100 from TomTom and then I have at least turn-by-turn navigation. Then if you have a 3G contract, the modem is free or you connect your cell phone via Bluetooth to the computer. Though if you have a cell phone with a 3G radio, chances are your cell phone also has a GPS unit inside it, so this point is really moot.
Anyway, it's not all that important at all. I'd like to see the tablet market develop and become more mainstream because then it would give a consumer more of a choice about what to buy at the end of the day. Competition is good. I'm just saying that the iPad could have been so much better if Jobs had tried a bit harder. As it is now, the iPad is little more than a large iPod Touch.
