lol all that for some expensive shit that'll probably break if it someone wasn't careful
I can't call it shit until I see some third party reviews.

Apple is supposed to be all about innovation though. What exactly is new here?Kmarion wrote:
The starting price is lower than what most people anticipate.
I just don't see it being the same as the iphone/touch. Size matters mucho here. Especially if you're going to be selling content and services. Reading on my phone and reading on my kindle isn't even comparable.
The thing is bigger.
It has services already provided by tons of other (arguably better) things.
Yes, arguably. That is the key here. We still don't know a lot of specifics regarding the services or how it performs. I'd like to get more info and actually see and hold the device.

will it have usb ports? HDMI?

It's very futuristic too, even if it's only a bigger iPhone.
I'm surprised it doesn't have a front facing camera.

So it's a less functional more fragile netbook at a higher price
Oh boy!
Oh boy!

Has Apple ever been known as economical? ..lol

Not being economical is one thing. Not being particularly useful AND not being economical is another
I've never looked at my iPhone and thought "Hmmm, Wait a sec. If only this was larger and didn't fit in my pocket!"
And likewise I've never looked at my netbook and thought "Gosh, if only this didn't have a keyboard and was half made out of glass.."
So let's see what we have here...
* iPhone OS
* No multitasking
* 16-64 gb
* not compatible with USB keyboards/mice
* $499 for 16gb and wifi only
...I'm sorry, score 1 for netbooks.

iTampon is trending on twitter
Not useful? ..lol
I sure as hell have said it blows watching whatever on a 3.5 screen. Watch the video. A netbook experience is not the same. Sitting down and folding out a keyboard, whilst using a trackpad is different than having a multi-touch device. I'm not saying it's win, but ffs I'm not going to say something sucks hours after it is announced or without actually using it.

No multitasking. Therefore it fails.
iPhone 4.0 is supposed to multitask. I wonder if there will be an software upgrade for the tablet. This is really looking to be purely a consumption device.
Surprised at no camera tbh.

It looks strangely square
I think it looks good. I'm more concerned with things like no flash support.

I think it looks like a midget holding an iphone.
It's a niche product for a market which simply doesn't exist!
I wouldn't say no to one though.... it's very desirable.

That was just my initial reaction. Might be hard to type on, will it be a full hand or thumb typing? Its hard to tellKmarion wrote:

If they introduce multitasking I can see that processor getting bogged down very quickly. 1GHz...?

It runs 1 app at a time right now. Try it with 5.Winston_Churchill wrote:
