Why would anyone get an automatic car of any sort unless they have no soul?
Autmatic FTW! (EU cars thanks!)
Automatics are for people who can't drive TBH, unless you do all your driving in a busy city in which case they do make driving a lot easier and can be almost justified in that case.

And on topic, I'd say it's just burning off excess oil like pretty much everyone else has said but, it's worth having it looked over.

If you're burning oil in the piston chamber causing smoke, thats not good.

If you spilled oil on the exhaust manifold/side of the engine then that is because you can't aim very well and is normal.

iUnless you have a sports car you should get an automatic. That VW isn't going anywhere manual or not. IMHO the only people who get manuals either are too cheap to get an auto or think they are in the fast and furious.

Unless you're a pussy with no soul or ability to drive, you should get a manual.

@OP You don't seem to know much about cars, suggest taking it to a garage.
Otherwise:

What does the dipstick read now?

Are you sure you put the oil in the right hole?

Was it the right oil?

When you tried to start it did it turn over and not fire or what?

Re Manual vs Automatics, for city driving they're good, not so much for winding roads.
Most people don't have much of a clue how to drive so they're better off with an automatic.

I don't know much but i know where to put oil and what oil to buy.
When i first tried to turn it on i could feel the engine trying to start up but it wouldn't.
Perhaps its the battery of the ignition (don't know how to say it in english, Batteria di avviamento in Italian).

Its working all fine now, gonna bring the car to a mechanic on monday.

Twat, it's white smoke.
Your both twats,

blue smoke = burning oil
black smoke = burning fuel, also carbon buildup coming out
white smoke = water burning, or brake fluid

also, if you Choose to drive auto over manual, your a faggot
