Games will stutter until everything is loaded into RAM. Just wait it out.
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Be quiet Cammy and Finny, you aren't helping OP

e: now to the problem,

What was the last thing you did before these problems started?
What PSU you have and how old its it?
Do you have latest drivers?
Which OS you are using and when was the last time you reisntalled it?
Are your temperatures fine under load?

1. It was a long time ago. I cant remember
2. It's a 550 watt sunbeam. Its not as bad as it sounds.
3. Windows 7 Installs the drivers for me. I will try updating them but it has never helped in the past.
4. Windows 7
5. Yes. I even bought additional cooling for it and replaced the thermal paste just last night.

Windows 7 built in "drivers" suck. And the ones it suggest to download via updates are equally horrid.

Download drivers for your graphics card from www.nvidia.com and do the same for everything else.

Make sure you get your mobo chipset drivers from the manufacturers website. As someone else said, don't trust win7 to do it for you.

Other than that. Perhaps other back ground resources and process are running and accessing your RAM. You can go to RUN, type msconfig and then google all the resources which are ticked to see if you need them.

I use a simpler method. You could try Advanced System Care. A handy little free system tools. You can then use the game booster bolt on for ASC can click "game mode" this switches of a ton of process which run in the background much the same as msconfig does. Only it doesn't require a reboot and you can switch them all back after you game.
Ive upgraded my RAM & GPU recently, but before that this little prog made a shit load of problems disappear for me. Try it.
