Does it run at 3 frames per second in multiplayer like the first one?

Thanks for the heads up. Downloading now.

I just hope the epic scale is still there. I read it was dumbed down a bit, specifically the economy part. Hopefully it's still a blast.

Holy fucking shit this is amazing.

The "Epic large" scale has] gone. But in it's place is a playable frame rate, much better animation, "Add-ons" for buildings, which upgrade them to give you shields, point defences etc.

Gahh it's 3:19am I can't describe it go play yourself.

This new version of SC is good, but very different from the previous version.

Likes:

+ Good graphics
+ Animations are top notch
+ Upgrading system for units is nice.

Dislikes:

- Economy is nonexistent and sometimes it seems like I'm constantly waiting for more resources for building
- There seems to be fewer types of units(no tech 1-3, just focusing on getting through the upgrade tree to increase their power)

All in all I'd say it's a good demo and I'll drop the cash for the full game once I tire of BFbc2.

When I read that they'd changed the economy system from the Total Annihilation style where you build as you recieve resources and replaced it with a 'buy when you have enough' system, the game died to me.

Same when I heard you couldn't get engineers to help factories build.

The economy and building systems is what set it apart from other games. I just don't even want to know anymore.

That thing is probably the most overrated experimental I've ever used...

tbh, all experimentals are weak as **** in sup-com 2 demo, with the exception of the (non-controllable) fatmanII

Thats the thing they wanted to change, now there are more experimentals and they are faster to produce and and weaker.

They take the battles of few experimentals to battles of armies of experimentals.

Meh, experimentals was one of the things I loved about SC1

Thats why I prefer games like C&C I guess... Fewer, more powerfull units & Simpler gameplay...

I don't really care much for multiplayer RTS tbh, I play comp-stomp 24/7

EDIT: I play the 2x ressource modifier in SC1 since spending ~2 hours to get the good stuff is kinda boring---

I don't know what to think about them removing focus from the monster units. I actually had fun with those in SCm1.

The feel of SC1 is drastically superior to that of the second, as far as I can tell. SC1 felt unique, while the demo for this one seems like a more typical RTS with the artwork, story, and some gameplay elements of the first.

Yeah, I think they fell off their niche...

If I have to choose between SC2 or C&C4 I have to choose C&C for the story...

GPG couldn't do storytelling to save their lives as far as the demo is showing

I think they are making this one more dumbed down, trying to widen their playerbase and then will go back to the more complex, involved games that SC1 and TA were.

I hope anyway.

the 'story' of both TA and SC1 was shite. In fact, was there even a story at all? I sure don't remember it...

Yeah but they stated that the story telling of SC2 was a huge focus in the design phase...

If so, they sure failed hard according to the demo...
