I didnt think the story was so bad in SC1, I think everyone expects way too much out games.
I mean it had an acceptable amount of backstory and scale.

I don't care, it was still a fuckin brilliant game even without a half decent story.Cheez wrote:

What the fuck did you expect for 1997?
I am in no way critisizing the first.. I am just stating that they should have been able to do better OR not claim in their interviews that they had an "immersive" storyline this time around...TimmmmaaaaH wrote:

I loved that the first brought the first ever true "hitreg" system to RTS, where everything is fired at a target and can then hit anything they encounter in their path. Rather than a "hit/miss" system like Warcraft, or a certain hit like C&C...TimmmmaaaaH wrote:
Awesome game was awesome.
For its time, even compared to some new RTS games, it has a lot of unique features.
Things like reclaiming wrecks, planes crashing into your shit. Wind, solar and tidal power? D-gun
Of course I assume TA was the first with those things.
Oh shit. Forgot all about that.FloppY_ wrote:

I saw a youtube video of someone shooting down aircraft with an Experimental artillery because the aircraft just happened to be in the shell trajectory of the artillery
I love all the music in TA. Think I'll go find one of my favourite songs.
Fuck yes, I do!

Yeah, unlike other above mentioned RTSs where Artillery is just a tank unit with 2x the rangeTimmmmaaaaH wrote:

indeed.
In fact, the whole long range artillery/radar/etc stuff itself is pretty damn awesome all around.

Supreme Commander was actually a pretty good game. A very complex one though I found it quite hard to get into infact I never got into it. The game just took forever to do on campaign mode! Most battles I found needed to be won with masses of units, which basically just destroyed my computer.
