1.41 was my first patch lulz.
Battlefield 2 was great for the replay value, but the ranking system was a little bit lacking in reward
I REALLY liked Battlefield 2142 when it came out, it was really cool to get to know some people and play with them and basically race to rank up and discuss the new unlocks we got and how many dog tags we got
2142 was very rewarding if you chose to use Squad Based combat, BF2, not so much
