I would probably keep the charts the same, unless your talking about building a folding rig. In which case you can probably get higher points per dollar from multiple older cards.Finray wrote:

I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.
Okay, I'll update the OP tomorrow and request a stickypresidentsheep wrote:

Price irrelevent AMD cpu should be the hexa-core one.
Enthusiast nVidia card should be the 470, price irrelevant, as many 480s as you want. Budget is 260, and mid-price is .. 275? Maybe, I dunno.
Budget ATi GPU should be 5770, mid price 5850, Enthusiast 5870.
H50 should be enthusiast, as it's worse than the Thor Hammer iirc. Price irrelevant, Thermalright IFX-14.
Price irrelevant storage, Raid 0 Intel SSD, Raid 1 2TB Spinpoint F3.
Case for mid-range, Coolermaster 690. Case for budget, whatever is cheapest.

That starts at £130/$200, hardly budget, surely something like an 8800 or gts250 would be better?Finray wrote:

I see the "budget" pc as something that would be as cheap as possible and able to play only light gaming

Tbh there's no point in going anything under 5770/260 anymore. Cards under that will struggle to play any new games, especially when coupled with as weak a CPU as the 5200. So if you can't afford to spend £130 on a GPU, you might as well not get one and just use onboard video and not play any games until you can afford it.presidentsheep wrote:

Surely that's the point of "budget"; you can't afford £130 on a GPU. The budget setups previously were <400, I wouldn't spend that on a PC and expect to be able to play all the games that are coming out.Finray wrote:

Why would you RAID0 SSD's when there are sizes available all the way up to 500GB ?Finray wrote:

Finray, you try too hard.
Why not raid 0 the 512GB SSDs then? The price is irrelevant after all.FloppY_ wrote:

Really pointless to put a phenom ii 940 in the enthusiast class since its a socket am2+...
this. put the 965 in there, hell for the price the 965 can go in the mid range as well.csmag wrote:

could probably include what the prices for budget, mid-range, and enthusiast are in the OP as well.
Actually, a lot of the AMD stuff is not too good choices anymore. X6s for both enthusiast and price irrelevant brackets, motherboard swaps etc.
And Silverstone PSU in price irrelevant bracket *throws up*

3930K | H100i | RIVF | 16GB DDR3 | GTX 480 | AX750 | 800D | 512GB SSD | 3TB HDD | Xonar DX | W8
well, lets face it... anybody in the enthusiast or price irrelevant brackets does not need and would never use this thread as a guide.GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:
