What's the difference between Polizia and Carabinieri? I thought all Italian cops were Carabinieri.
Polizia is the actual police, you know the usual stuff taht all police around the world do.
The Carabinieri are a Gendarmerie corp, so they do police duty plus they are military units, so you see them in Rome and then at the same time doing duty in Iraq, Afghanistan etc.
So also their uniforms are more military oriented, and yes those are regular everyday duty uniforms.

They are the main one's we get around here, but newer. Infact I think ours are newer than the sydney ones.

They use the same cars atm for the unmarked cars, but they get rotated out every 6 months.

our new charger, seeing this sucker sitting around is kinda intimidating. I've seen it chase down some jackoff in a vette doing at least 100, and the charger went from 0-100 in seconds.
Mainly crown vics around here as well. Standard police car for most of the US. See a few Ford Explorer SUVs, mainly because New England has some rough winters. State cops have a corvette though, and a tracked APC for search and rescue
