Is the test to get a motorcycle license easy? I recon its far easier than the road test for a car, yes? Does it include any traffic questions or is it simply just "can you drive this thing"

considering trying a motorcycle this coming summer. Great on gas, fast, and probly fun as shit

i already have my driver license so i dont care about traffic testing cause that shit was easy

hook up a blade to it - you could get a bike and mow lawns at the same time.

Good luck riding a bike if you don't know the traffic laws.

It isn't a very hard test in Va(and i imagine it's similar in NY)... just a written test about the traffic laws in Va and some situational questions... like, What should you do if someone is tailgating you?

And a test where you ride around a parking lot and accelerate and then come to a stop in a certain area...

One thing i would highly recommend is riding a dirt bike off road to get used to shifting braking and using the clutch.
if you don't have a dirt bike available.... Ride a street bike in a school parking lot and practice the above...
It will help you pass the test and it will help you a lot on the road when you are riding around with cars and trucks...

One last thing..
Always ride like you are invisible to others... because a lot of the time people don't pay attention to motorcyclists.
Ride Safe.

Go to a motorcycle school. I did so in Texas a while back for a weekend. Written and riding test included in the cost ($450). You'll also be able to practice and take the test with school provided bikes instead of potentially laying down your own. Riding test consisted of acceleration and stopping tests, avoiding cones etc.

Bikes are fun, just don't kill yourself. The latter is rather easy to do.

yeah idk i dont have a license but out of the 4 people i know that ride. 2 got ninja 250s for their first bike and were fine, other 2 got 600cc+ and wrecked them within a month.

i wanna get a bike when im older though. only problem is i cant see it being convenient at all if youre going camping, fishing, etc. or traveling with more than one person.

androoz, it depends on your size really. I was 6'3", 240 lbs when I bought my bike (a little heavier now) so a little 600cc bike would look ridiculously small under me. Your first bike could be a Hayabusa if you really desired one but you'd just have to control your urge to open the throttle up. I chose the liter bike as my first bike because I knew I wouldn't 'grow out of it' performance wise. Very happy with my purchase.

If anyone is curious, I bought a 2004 Triumph Speed Triple:

fucking piece of shit ISP FUCKING COX GOD DAMNIT I TYPED ALL THIS SHIT AND ITS GONE CAUSE OF SHIT CONNECTIVITY FUCK YOU COX

okay. but yeah.

if you want a sportbike go for a 600cc because anything above that you WILL roll the throttle out and you WILL end up going WAY faster than you had thought you might go

Dont get a hayabusa, theyre too fucking fast. 2x faster than you could EVER possibly need to go.    My dad has one (cause hes a crazy motherfucker) and he tells me how he does 150mph on the freeway embankments

I crashed a 'busa, only at 50mph though, cought like 50mph-60mph of winds (monsoon season was starting in AZ and the crazy differences in pressure create what are called microbursts) I think if I had that thing any longer and DIDNT crash it going that slow that I would have hit the rear end of a honda civic doing like 160.

I now own a GSXR 750 and love the shit out of it, I havent gone over 100mph in MONTHS but I dont care I don't really speed anymore... I like the extra power on the 750 though because you can still roll on that throttle and pass cars or get out of tight spots relatively easy

But i do know the traffic laws i have my driver license for a car lol it was simply out of curiousity why i asked

inb4 "cant spell driver's license" because if you look at your license it says "driver license". That is the name of the license.

If you can't afford the gas to fill a car, you can't afford to own a bike. Just sayin'.

Over here the theory and hazard perception is exactly the same. I assume the practical is much the same, but on a bike.

The amount of money you spend on a bike can buy a lot of 'gas', otherwise known as petrol in English speaking countries.
