Put the watermark on a layer above the main image and drop the opacity until it looks how you want it.

I don't have anything as of now but I know very soon I'll be putting in images that I don't want others to use

Gimme a shout if you need a hand with it, once you've got a watermark sorted I can throw together an actions file, all you have to do then is hit the go button and it'll watermark it for you

You should make sure that the actual watermark is a cutout.
