Lithium is hardcore, there are better medications for that kind of thing out there in most cases (of course, I don't know anything about your ex's case, nor do I have any clinical expertise, I'm just a mental health support worker whom works with people who take the whole gamut of medication).Uzique wrote:
i'd rather be suicidal in my case than fucked on lithium or some other greyscale-zombie anti-depressant or seratonin-capsule. i watched those things drain the life out of my ex-girlfriend and narrow her emotional horizons; suicide is an extreme low but at least the extremities can be experienced. i was talking about pills specifically to alter mind-states... hence the alcohol remark. why the hell would i care if you're taking pills for your angina or some shit, that has nothing to do with the facetious point of my message.

Lemme guess.... Trans-Europe Express for sure. Other one is... Autobahn? Out of all their work, Computer World is my favorite but it doesn't seem as impactful to a lot of people who make those listsDonFck wrote:
Matt, there are two Kraftwerks on there, wink wink, nudge nudge.
Yeah, just playing them in succession while doing something else doesn't really work. That's why you have to take time. I've heard two albums today which is more than enough.

Seems a bit lame standing around at the local memorial, when visiting the graves and battlefields is possible.
People who stay at my work have reported some medications (including SSRIs) to be a vast improvement to their mental health and overall quality of life though. But some of the side effects from prolonged use, especially with the older medications aren't cool, like tardive dyskinesia (involuntary clicking of the teeth, etc). Some of these are pretty much permanent too. Scary stuff.Uzique wrote:

fucking with brain chemistry in order to achieve a state of everyday 'normality' in emotional/mental experience = frightening pseudo-science
i'll recreationally take drugs of any form - caffeine, alcohol, anything - to 'enjoy' or 'experience' a different state of being, but as a base-level thing... no.
I know that. I was being specific to my statement of pills.Uzique wrote:

not gonna insult someone's choice in medicine...
I've only had it maybe 5 times, but LSD can be ~awesome~.Uzique wrote:
