Hi gang, I had to re-install all the software on my computer thus needing to re-install BF2.

After patching I start the game, log in with my account and go for Multiplayer. But when I am trying to join a server i get the message "LOGIN FAILED_cdkeynotvalid". Well, it definitely speaks for itself. However, I am not playing any piratecopied version - I bought the game and entered the CD Key on the manual that came with the game.

Any ideas what I can do? My first thought was that if I had entered the key wrong I would be told so during set-up but no such thing happened. Do I have to re-install just to enter the key again? Is this a known kind of bug?

Please help - I've got a Big War to attend to tomorrow

There is a tool that comes with the game when you install it.  Alot of people don't know about this.  The tool is called "Battlefield 2_code.exe".  You can do a search on your harddrive for that file, then run it, or navigate to it manual.  It's located here:  C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\Support\Battlefield 2_code.exe   If you installed your game in the default place.

The tool allows you to change your CD Key.   Note:  Sometimes, changing your key requires you to run the latest patch again after you've changed it.

if this helps, you cannot play bf2 on multiple user accounts. for example if you installed bf2 on 'guest' and log an as 'barry' you will get this problem. hope it helps
