gimmick-less keyboards?

I'm looking for a new keyboard. Right now I've got this 5 year old logitech POS that's literally falling apart.

I had the G15 for a few days and just couldn't justify its price-inflating features, eg. the screen, the backlit keys, the "gamer mode", the macro keys, and so on. That said the new G110 seems far more reasonable, except I really don't like the big row of macro keys on its left side.

I just want a comfortable keyboard. Typing quality and comfort is what matters. Also media keys. Wouldn't mind wireless either.

I have a Logitech Media keyboard, standard qwerty keys and then your media ones above the F keys. Cost me around £12 about 4 years ago, still going strong.

I'll try find a pic/links to it.

Dont you mean the Eclipse II?

As far as I remember the Eclipse 1 only has blue

Mainly a load of wank. Gaming mice are worth it but a standard keyboard does the work just as fine as a gaming one. For keyboards you probably just want one that is as comfortable and good build quality as possible

That's what I was thinking too.

I've got a good mouse, but would like a new keyboard that doesn't cost a lot of money. Thankfully it sounds like I can shop for one I like without considering bells as a big factor.

Protip: The eclipse II can toggle the colours on demand... e.g. purple/red/blue = same keyboard

Gaming keyboards don't make a difference for gaming (with the exception of maybe MMOs) but I love my G15V1 a lot for everything else.
