I do, however, think that Twitter is a pretty pointless. In terms of sharing information, news, fun stuff, photos, videos, etc with my friends: Facebook is far superior. Facebook is even superior for following bands/artists/famous people/etc.
facebook and twitter have two very different uses, tbh. facebook is social networking. twitter is information. i don't know anyone that uses twitter to get in touch with friends, or socialize. people that misunderstand the fundamental difference are just on the anti-twitter bandwagon for no reason. admittedly, some people have used twitter to tweet endlessly about their own inane little lives- but that trend went out pretty fast. it has defined itself as a service more dominantly over the last few months. in the early days, i dont think even the creators/developers knew what it was for; it seemed at one point like they were racing to catch-up with the overnight fame, as stunned and stupefied as the rest of the world were.

facebook has helped me dealing with the department of veterans affairs better than my VA rep has at school. I found out about an advance check that was owed to me through a facebook status update for the GIBILL profile. Also found out about waiting periods, processes and expectations on more than a couple of times. On top of that, I was able to ask questions from other veterans who were going through the same things as well as answer question for veterans who had just started the process. really really helpful. I would have been clueless about my GIBILL if hadnt been for FB.
