OK, my aunt is competing in an international archery competition in July for the disabled (she's on her way to be on the American Special Olympics Team). The thing is that it isn't in London, but rather a bit north from London. here
Likely I would fly into Heathrow from Vienna, but as far as getting to this village/city/whatever, I would have no idea how. Then I also need to organize a hotel room for a few nights. The place my aunt is staying at apparently costs 55GBP/night. Not all that expensive, but the money paying for the lot of it would be sent to me in dollars (since my aunt's sister, my mother, can't be there, I'll go as family/moral support) and the exchange rate between USD and GBP isn't always the best. So I would be looking for something cheaper.
Here in Austria I would simply locate a bed & breakfast place upon arriving and that would be that, but unfortunately this isn't Austria. Would I be able to find a place to stay like that and would it be cheaper than 55GBP/night and also come with breakfast (not a must for the breakfast part, but it's what the hotel would likely offer)? I'm trying to put together a little cost plan for my mom so that way she can tell me whether or not we can afford it together. I'd love to go to England and not see London (done that, was nice but nothing special - I prefer the countryside) or any other overly large metropolis so this is a great opportunity. As it is, my aunt is in a wheel chair and could certainly use the extra assistance there.
Any help you guys can give me in figuring how to get there from Heathrow (cheaply!) and how to locate a place to sleep for about 4-5 nights would be excellent. Karma for helpful answers!
