The City of Seattle was in trouble the other day - and who did Spiderman turn to? Electron Boy!!! EB defeated the evil Dr. Dark and Blackout Boy, and saved the city. This elaborate, citywide stunt was put together by the Make A Wish Foundation to grant Erik Martin, who is living with kidney cancer, his dream of being a superhero.

Dr. Dark and Blackout Boy Send Electron Boy a Message:

Electron Boy Saves Puget Sound Energy:
Time lapse video of Puget Sound Energy and the arrival of Electron Boy as he lives out his dream to be a superhero for a day with the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Qwest Field, PSE and the Space Needle. Electron Boy was escorted by a motorcade of Police Officers to the PSE location where he single handedly saved "Energy Jim" and the city from total and complete darkness!

After he was done rescuing Energy Jim, Dr. Dark and Blackout Boy struck again at the Seattle Space Needle!

HAHA I read about that on the news. Puget Sound Energy is our southern counterpart. (I'm working one county north of King County, for the Snohomish County Public Utilities District. ie: electricity and water) tmi? meh

Good for them.

I'm still learning about all the stuff the electric company does for the public. It's pretty amazing and cool to be part of. They have all sorts of community projects going on.

Go green!

They made that kid's day.

my nephew had a liver transplant.
Make A Wish set him up nicely - bought him a tv and a console, and chauffeured him to the stores to let him pick it out.

we donate to M a W every year, some of the stories are amazing . . .

It was heartbreaking to me knowing why they did all of this for him. That poor kid.

What is cool about this is that there were so many people involved. It's not a matter of simply donating money. People took the time to make this happen.

for six years i've gone to a dinner hosted by the foundation, and read the stories of more lives touched.
