yea no need for that many soldiers as long as the graphics and the game-play is good the game should kick ass Cant wait till they make Rome II, and then Medieval total war 3.. since they omitted bunch of countries and ethnicities in Medieval 2 it was not as authenticunnamednewbie13 wrote:

proper 1100 AD map
and then as time progresses introduce the ottomans, Mongols, ect.
I was hoping they'd do an Americas-centric Empire 2 and do more about the Indian Wars, the Civil War and Manifest Destiny. 1910 would be a good place for ETW to stop.
no need?!?!?!?!blademaster wrote:

well 10k was the max for other previous games such as mtw2 ect. so thats more than enough.......... the game looks good but just sayin...also I rather have them fix some other stuff in game, than introduce more soldiers.... also try controlling 28k soldiers at once....and now think about online multiplayer, how much throughput they'll need, the latency factor, all of this stuff will have a effect on the servers...krazed wrote:

k so to clear things up, the game is not gonna possibly have 56k soldiers in one battle... so 56k is the max amount the system will be able to handle
Assemble Studio
We don’t yet know the full unit sizes and the final number of armies on any one field at one point but we do know that the engine can take up to 56,000 of them.Basically not regularly 56k, but certainly larger than Napoleon, by a significant factor (That number potentially going as high as 56k).
the mods for mw2 were great.
but 56000 troops on the map. thats insane. how can that be anything but great

Tu Stultus Es
They hit all of the major ones, little states that would have been rolled over in the first few turns would have been unnecessary to have in the finale game.blademaster wrote:

The Ottoman Empire were Turks.
Is there a release date for this yet?

Tu Stultus Es
demo is now available on steam.
anybody played it yet? the first game was absolutely amazing and had me hooked for so so long... one of the most captivating turnbased/realtime strategy games i have ever played. i remember buying into the empire: total war hype back when i first had my DX10 rig - partly for the graphics, but mostly just to see if i could get wrapped up in another grand and epic campaign. i couldn't . really hoping this game has that 'x' factor again!

that's crazy! i was just absent-mindedly scanning through the steam store, bored with all my current games... and saw the demo 'featured' on the storefront! so i searched for this thread and had your insta-reply! haha madness. how long will it take an aussie to download that on your convict-broadband?

It would take me about 2 or 3 nights leaving the pc run while I'm asleep.
I can live with that.
Loved the 1st total war, and Rome was good.
The others didn't really do it for me.
