Awesomes a bit of a strong word. It's alright but the physics aren't great, the lack of being able to customise cars is a let down and it can get repetitive.

Oh and you get a new car like every other race that's usually better than the one you already have, which means you can only a few races to sample cars if you want to stay fast.

It adds another dimension to the game. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying its an awful game, it's fine. I just got far more enjoyment out of nfs underground/2

This is far more true to the original Hot Pursuit than any of the last NfS´s is. That was one of the main goals and I think they did a great job at achieving it. Sure, the physics are somewhat dodgy, but they support the high-speed environment. No need to countersteer while drifting is pretty stupid though.
Nevertheless, the cops and racer battles are really good fun, fast paced and action packed. I dont miss the customization, but I didn´t expect there to be any either.
I just drove a Bugatti Veyron with 420 km/h, I don´t need no pimped out Toyota Corolla
