I've been practice driving 5 times and the last two I hit the road, but not the highways and I still drove kind of weird and couldn't get the hang of the really tight spaces and shit like that.

How long does it take to drive at a normal level?

Took me 20 hours, average was supposed to be 30, but my driving instructer probably said that to try and sell a few more lessons.

My old man was a driving instructor & he reckons roughly 1 hour of lessons for every year of your life.

Just keep driving and definitely get a feel for your car. If you are learning in one car, then driving in another, it takes awhile to get used to.

And if you are ever a passenger, watch other drivers (though many are bad, you can learn some tips from the good ones).

You'll get the hang of it. I thought I sucked at driving, but I've been driving for nearly a year and it's very easy.

I find that most of the older and middle aged drivers are equally as shit. Not as risk taking as younger drivers, but a majority of them don't know the current road rules or properly pay attention to what they are doing - because they have "experience"

Where did I say old people are good drivers?

Fact is kids that have driven around the suburbs for a grand total of 100 hours don't know how to drive well. Not really. Driving for years doesn't automatically make you a good driver either. These kids that think they're the shit because they have driven a grand total of 100 hours in the suburbs are the worst though.

After each sctrach or bumps on your car you learn to drive better.

For men: 0, it's natural and intuitive.
For Asians: 9001.
For women: no amount of driving sessions can help them drive like a sane human being.

I will stop stereotyping as soon as they start breaking the stereotypes.

The first time I drove my Mother's manual transmission station wagon was quite easy. Shifting gears and driving forward was a breeze, I haven't tried parking though, but I can only imagine it's very hard since backing up wasn't too easy because of visibility.

Gotta learn on an automatic myself, way too much extra thinking involved with a stick.

I'm sorry but I don't quite understand what you're having trouble with.

Is it driving and turning, like staying in the lanes and controlling your vehicle, or parking, backing up, switching lanes, driving when there's other people?

My driving was on a curvy road with nobody on it. So it was really easy. I'll be getting my drivers permit soon now that I'm in California.

Seems like j is having trouble with spatial awareness, which is odd because men are naturally gifted with that (I assume it evolved from the hunting days of cavemen, and also contributes to why guys are better drivers and probably enjoy videogames more).

You shouldn't worry, though. Sometimes people get it right away, other times it takes a bit more practice to get the hang of how big the car is and where you're at on the road.

Just please don't go out to your driveway and take measurements of the car's dimensions and then study and memorize them.

It's all about getting the feel of the car and how comfortable you are with driving it.
