the reason i ask is because i just had a dream where i was shot in the chest. i imagined it being a dull but very strong pain, like i imagine having a heart attack would be, or being kicked in the chest i guess. it also kind of knocked the wind out of me...in my dream.

what does it actually feel like?

But yes, I've always heard it described as hugely painful burn, but then dulled by adrenaline if it happens in combat.

My brother has been shot before once going through D.C., the bullet wound was about the size of a .44 I think but he said when his friends drove to a safe area, they were all checking for bullet wounds and stuff, and then he didn't realize he'd been shot till he looked down and saw a small but steady stream of blood coming down from his chest. The bullet penetrated through his back, bounced around hitting I think a lung and something else and narrowly missing his heart and then exited out of the front of his chest on the opposite side.

Never asked him about the actual pain though, but he said trying to talk after having his tonsoles removed hurt more than being shot.

Not that serious of business but he doesn't like bringing it up in front of people for the reason (looking for dope)
