Yeah it sounds like a virus/spybot/adware yet Spybot and Malwarebytes can't find anything (still scanning with Malwarebytes though, over half an hour gone). Googled the net and can't find an answer. Reinstalled Chrome and the same problem straight away.

Not really sure what to do. It's only just started up today. Only sites I've visited are bookmarked ones that I've used plenty of times.

Basically, I load a page, it loads completely then the screen goes blank, little circle in the tab spins as if it is loading, then it stops and I'm left with a blank page. If I click the blank page a popup appears for some advertising, but the ads are for companies like Telstra (biggest telco in Australia) etc. I can get onto the page after refreshing about 5 times, but this is very tedious if I'm on a forum and trying to get to a thread on a sub-forum, then to a page and then post... end up refreshing 20+ times.

It doesn't do it for all sites though, which is why I'm posting the question here rather than a tech support site I visit every now and then because I can't load that site either.

I would really appreciate some help here, karmas etc.

Do you get the same thing in other browsers?

No, IE is fine. I currently don't have any other browsers installed.

Hmmm... I did everything in this guide and whilst no detections were made, it seems to have cleared up the problem.

At least that's what *I* read at first.

Sorry, back on topic.

I, too, have had problems with Chrome, forcing me to switch.

It was my favourite browser, but it just crashed every fucking half an hour. So frustrating.

Also, some pages it would only show source-code, instead of the actual page.

Shame.

Chrome needs a little work, but even Firefox crashes.

So far it hasn't for me, and I've installed all these mods to make FF look as similar to Chrome as possible, but I wasn't exagerating when I said it would crash every half an hour.

And the source-code page thing was painfully annoying when wanting to quickly look on eBay or check my email.
