1) The Star Wars prequels shifted gears from story to effects. Might have won new people over to Star Wars, but it lost me.
2) Harry Potter: series rot. There's only so much book you can cram into a movie, which makes filming a series of seriously interlinked novels, some of which at the time of filming haven't even been released, a complete gamble. Not having ready Harry Potter at all before watching the first movie, I was able to follow it well enough. Since then, I've tried to analyze each film from the perspective of someone who hadn't read the books (as best as I can, since I have read them), and I can see why they're so difficult to follow for anyone who isn't a fan. There are tons of gaps for the non-Potter fan to bridge before they can understand who half of the characters are or what's going on and why.
3) The Hobbit (the next one). Studio buttheads have buried this film in such a mire of legal work that by the time it comes out, it'll have little momentum to work with. I bet it'll be a good movie, though. In like 2018.
4) X-Men: MAKE IT STOP!!

I guess that does make sense. I think I read an article at some point saying they refused to act in it because Depp was being paid so much more than they were. Maybe it was a load of bullshit who knows.
