I dont have any TRS cables
What do you need them for? What's your setup?
(You've probably posted it already, I'm lazy).

Then you have absolutely no idea what a budget setup can produce..Finray wrote:
Also I didn't mention the amp, because it's been in my family about 30 years and is a decrepit broken thing, that's probably only worth about £10 nowadays.
That's not even a sentence, Minty.

which currently is buzzing as well, might be the power too, im not sure yet, but grounding adapters should be here soon (should have been here today :\)

lol I'm too stoned right now to debate this but Finny until you actually hear all those " double-sheilded stiff cables, $7250 cables, external DACs, £300 sound cards, electricity cleaners, and whatever guff you audiophiles pour money into" all of your statements have no weight.
Bevo this is a laptop we are talking about right? I already told you to unplug laptop from the power socket and if the buzzing sound continues its not related to power issue. Laptop runs on battery and a battery cannot produce any noise. And if power from the wall socket does its either your dirty electrical wiring or a shitty power supply. But if on battery the buzz disappears then you don't need a power adapter to test it again.Bevo wrote:

Grounding plug seems to have worked. Absolutely silent now. Don't know what the humming was from before.
It's gone back to it's intermittent buzz.
I wonder what's causing it. :\

Quite possible - i'll try and separate them from everything on my desk when I get back from class.
Would higher quality/TRS cables stop interference?

After a little bit of testing, it seems to be the cable. The right/red RCA cable produces a buzz regardless of which monitor it goes in.
Time to buy me some more expensive shit.

just another super cheap one i will bet you that it will be gone
cheap cables have poor insulation and the wiring breaks inside easy. now im not saying fork out $8k for 12m but spend wisely.Bevo wrote:

I can't find any blue jeans TRS cables on amazon, I prefer to order from there if possible.

a) coming out of headphone jack, that's about as good as you'll need (also didn't know the distance[cba to re-read it]), also, these go straight into speaker, not into another set of cables (take out one connection)Bevo wrote:

b) didn't realize you bought the other stuff, lolz.

ed@morph: ye, i posted it in the "what tech did you buy today" threadBevo wrote:
I got a pair of KRK Rokit RP5G2s not too long ago, and need either a DAC or external audio card to use with them. Using a 3.5mm to RCA connector is functional, but whenever I use an AC adapter in my laptop, it screeches out terrible noise and there's really no way around that.
