So when you're crossing a one-way street do you only look one way? Last time I crossed a one-way street, which is EVERY day, I look both ways, in case something like this happens.

I can't remember the last time I crossed a one-way street.  I also learned when I was 7 not to ride a bike against traffic.  I also know that US laws give precedence to the pedestrian in most cases.

What would the guy looking both ways accomplish?  He would have possibly allowed himself enough time to get out of the way. It doesn't excuse the biker from riding the wrong way down a street.  Like I said, a swift punch to his head would have in my opinion acted as sufficient negative incentive for the douche on wheels to shut his trap.  Plus I would have stolen his messenger bag, crushed his ipad and point and laugh at the hipster faggot.

If the biker was riding the correct way, would the pedestrian have still been hit by him? Very unlikely since clearly the pedestrian was looking at the oncoming traffic, and would've seen the bike as well.

If the pedestrian was using a crosswalk while the biker was still riding the wrong way, would the pedestrian have still been hit? Still entirely possible. If that biker doesn't care about which direction he's riding, something tells me he's not gonna be careful when riding near or through crosswalks either.
