Whenever I import TF2 footage in Premiere, it always does something strange to the kill notices, making them rather hard to read.

Example:

In the source video (outside of Premiere) it looks normal, but in Premiere it looks messed up like that.

Help?

I'm pretty sure the video quality of all videos gets raped in the preview box of video editors.  I mean, I can tell the quality of the video sucks just by looking at the background.

What's the resolution of the video as given by Premiere? Maybe it got imported with the wrong settings?

Don't want to learn a new program. .-.

Both the footage and the project/sequence are 1280x720 though.

I wonder if it might be the codec or container used. But then again, you've been doing this quite a bit.

One time I had premiere randomly dropping frames on me. I had to install Vegas and re-edit my video with that and it came out fine, even though source footage was ok. Reinstalled Premiere later on, and it was working fine. I dunno what's up with it, but seems like random issues randomly come up and random times and it's fucking random annoying.

It's the full version of CS5.

It could be the codec, but I assumed it wasn't because the video looks fine when played in WMP. However, that doesn't mean it won't have a problem with Premiere, so you have a good point.
I'll try compressing it differently and see what happens.

Nope, I think it's something Premiere-only.

I tried different versions of the codec, and tried using the Lagarith codec. I get that text chopping every time.

Edit: Fixed it!
In my sequence settings, I had "Lower first" in fields, so I set it to no fields/progressive, and the text looks fine now.
