i was reading some stuff earlier about drug tolerance, drug dependence and the psychology/pathophysiology of it.
was mainly focussed on caffeine and frequent drinking of coffee etc. but the medical journals show that a large amount of natural tolerance and susceptibility for potential abuse is determined purely by genetics. very interesting that some people can be alcoholics or caffeine-freaks before they even actually start drinking/taking that substance. also quite frightening to think that some people out there are pre 'programmed' to get hooked on shit the very first time they try it.
