jsnipy, you should alternate some of that mossy cobble with plain cobble. Keep it in the corners that get dark. Looks too perfectly green as-is.

I never have a building 100% in my head, i just make stuff up as i go, but i do make a simple blueprint to measure certain surfaces and see where i have to place stuff.
Here's one that displays the lay-out for 2 floors. Once you see the building in MC you'll get it, but just try and decifer it.

Sorry bout the size, i always take a small image (1 block representing 1 pixel in paint) and then i just zoom in.

Is it an overhead? If so I would expect it to be an upside down pyramid Dotted lines on blueprints means walls hidden from view (i.e. a floor or something is blocking them from the perspective)
