I can't believe they didnt increase the point limits for the officer ranks...

With several people eclipsing 200K, I see no need for them to MAKE THE HIGHEST GENERAL RANK AT 200k

No new ranks, alot of players MAY move onto other games. I am all for ranks, but make the ranks difficult to obtain, not appease the noobs that need instant gratification after eahc hour of play

so a few people at 200k move on to something else. Who honestly cares? Its not like they make up the larger percentage of players or something. Hell, some people will NEVER reach 200k..

Honestly I couldn't care less about people with over 200k points. A lot of people are going to quit? What, the 30 people with over 200k? Big deal... Most MMOGs take about 400 hours to max out a character (not WoW of course which is a kiddie MMOG). In this game is can take more like 1000+ hours to get 200k. Why should there necessarily be more ranks beyond that?

ROFL. If you play for rank than some of you are bigger nerds than I thought. Wow, look at me, I'm cool, I have a high rank in BF2. All the ladies will be impressed... Ya...Ok. Let them move on to other games if ranks are so important. Idiocy at its finest.

Considering the badge requirements for some of the new ranks, I wouldn't say it was alot easier. How many of those people over 200k would qualify? Not many. It is easier is some ways since you don't need to get X number of points to hit a rank, but the ones who hit the'advanced ranks' will have put in ALOT more effort than the people who are currently sitting in the top 10.

Personally I am quite happy that I might actually get a new rank after 1st Sgt, I had considered that to be the highest I could ever get.

The rank system is the on thing that makes this game great, and will prolong its life 10 fold for the average gamer. Actually accomplishing something and having your accomplishments recorded is the one thing that makes this game more than a passing stress reliever.

As for impressing the ladies? If you want to be impressing them, I highly suggest staying away from BF2 all together, unless you are 14 of course~

I must say that the jump from 2nd LT to Colonel is dumb. What about all the officer ranks in between.

I think they should have made the 2nd LT rank start at 100K or 80K at the earliest. But what about..

I cannot remember all 4 general names, and there is a 5th star general during war time....

I dont just want to jump from a butter bar to a full bird. Gay. Unless they did break it down.

Yup dumb. 10k differance.

But rank at 20k, then 50k?

Should have droped that one to 35 or 40k since most of them are 10-20k apart after 50,000 anyhow.

Took me a long time to get to 20k. I try not to think "been playing 6 months to get 25k... so the end of summer I should rank again".
