In Norway people are generally pushed to choose a degree that fits what they want to work as (close connection to starting salary..), rather than a degree that fits their interests.

whatever in the FUCK happened to being educated for being educated's sake? what's wrong with actually just having an enquiring mind and wanting to open your intellect up to many new ideas, ways of thinking, and things of general cultural importance? why does life have to be about getting a degree in IT so you can fulfill the admin position for a shitty small company in the midlands? is that what you call fulfillment? will the 50 inch LCD TV and the shitty little BMW make you feel like you've led a healthy, successful life?

im studying literature because i am interested in big ideas. i dont actually care what career i go into. im opening my mind.

dude i have formal qualifications in law and economics.

i could graduate with a BA in english and just as easily go into a bar qualification course and common professional exam

= £120k/year barrister. as i said, your initial bachelor's degree isn't the be all and end all of your life.

i can do whatever i want, i know i have a capable mind. you should know that you can do whatever you want, too.

why let a piece of paper fucking pigeonhole you for 50 working years?

You rarely learn anything practical in school for your career. The degree basically says, "Hire me, I know how to learn." What you want to learn is up to you, not what the degree is in.
