students on facebook and twitter all over a 3 mile square campus (and surrounding towns/villages) are reporting a high-pitch, droning hum noise. the more you tune into it the more and more it starts to become noticeable until it becomes this fucking intolerable psycho-terrorist squeal. really weird... anyone have any suggestions of what could be causing a noise to be heard over such a large area? admittedly this is the leafy suburbs of london so there's not a lot of 'ambient' noise... but to hear this droning, wavering noise quite perceptibly is very weird!
