So you've never had to fill up the gas tank in another state? Jesus dude, please leave the swamp at least once before you die.

$12 a pack, $3.09 a gallon. And you live closer to the Staten Island dump than I do too

And day, it's small, about 800 feet. Bedroom, bathroom, a hallway that doubles as my office/library, a decent sized kitchen, and largeish living/dining room. My gf complains it's too small but she was spoiled growing up in a mansion

Fuck, I was always told that the further downstate you went, the cheaper the gas was!  It's 2.89 here, lol

And my apartment is comparable sqare footage and only $480/month....holy cost of living, batman!  Does your rent include basic utilities?

is that including gas/water/electricity?

My brother pays $690 excl. (500 euros) for larger than that. NYC seems expensive as hell.

Everything is more expensive in NYC. Everything. Das Fuhrer, Mayor Bloomberg, likes to place excise taxes everywhere.

No, my utilities range from ~$100-$180 a month depending on A/C or heat usage. I don't pay for hot water though. Oh, and my cable/phone/internet bill is another $135 a month.

It's ridiculously awesome if you really think about it. I happen to hate living in the city but if you step back and think about how everything runs like clockwork to keep it going it's awe inspiring.
