Does google maps work onboard planes? Like I just saw a jet fly over me and I wonder if anyone on it knew where they where exactly.

Lots of planes have TV screens showing a map and precisely where the plane is, along with speed, heading and other such data. It's usually there at the start/end of the flight, or when a film isn't on, or on another channel.

I'm kinda interested on the technical side, on whether it is possible for a smartfore location app can be used whilst flying at like 300mph

I'm guessing it would only update as fast as the GPS re pings the towers/whatever...

wtf.

So I got an email this morning.

"Bit of a problem. Your payment for this month's bill still hasn't gone through, and we've now had to deactivate your service. The amount is £35.18 incl. VAT"

I literally have no idea why the payments aren't going through. Their customer service has no idea why. My bank has no idea why.

My internet is still connected.

According to BT my phone number doesn't exist at this address and there is no broadband being served to it

According to my ISP (Be) my broadband is disabled, yet I can sit here typing this to you guys. And I can still log in to the customer control panel where it says "your service is currently deactivated"

I think I've fallen out of the known universe.
