Pandora's pretty unrealistic though. Like, all the plants and creatures are made to be similar enough to human ones so that we can relate with them, but exotic enouh to be considered "not the norm" and eyecandy. Your entire basis for the truth that Christianity can't be scientifically disproved revolves around the idea that God can't be scientifically disproved. So if someone says it's impossible for a person to die and then come back to life three days later or walked on water, and then you say ''God did it'' or ''He was God'' - yes, that's a way out of the argument. Because the scientist can't prove that God does or does not exist.
However you can't say that this event happened and it was real, yet go onto say that the Book of Genesis wasn't real and it was just symbolism and none of that is true. It doesn't fit in. Either the Bible is the word of God or it isn't, you can't pick and choose what suits your argument.
Anyway what you're talking about is less science and more history. People don't really bother to dabble in tales with dubious evidence from a long time ago which are summed up with the fact that God was behind it all.
It's about belief. Not in science, but in history. You have to beleive that these events happened and all your sources on these events are reliable, and when it comes to Christianity, it's extremely hard to see it that way. Some research on your behalf on the historicity of religion needs to be done.
Anyone can say something happened, have no proof, but say God did it. That doesn't mean you have to beleive them or it's true because you can't prove God exists.
Also generally speaking the burden of proof lies on those who claim to be telling the truth, not those who claim it false.
I do feel certain that the God as characterised in Christianity, Judaism and Islam doesn't exist though. There's no proof, but it's impossible to imagine such a character as a God in the way it's described. No chance.
I actually strongly agree with you. The old testament God and the new testament God are two different things. However, the key difference is Jesus. Jesus was the son of God, an embodiment of all of God's kindness and goodness. I don't know for sure, but when God sent Jesus, Jesus became a highly inflluential factor in Gods decisions, and benevolence reined.Mekstizzle wrote:
