Tested this patch and I found a couple of interesting things:

- This patch caters to all the experienced players and REALLY wrecks the inexperienced ones (AKA, the tubers/non-hoppers).
- I came from a couple of servers and everyone who was Sergeant Major and up had KD's of ~5 including me.

- Everyone else had KD's of 0.1 (They also said this patch sucks, they were complaining about how EA shouldn't have nerfed bunny hopping THAT much... ironic that they said that).

Since the experienced (AKA bunny hoppers/dolphin divers) had a pretty good grasp of the game mechanics and the others didn't, this patch makes the experienced easy to adjust to while the complainers (who wanted this patch in the first place) will have to take ALOT of time to adjust.

I for one just finished a Mashtuur 44-5 round with a group of complainers telling me patch sucks.

the grenade is like a big bullet, goes straight but too heavy so it falls to the ground at about 50 meters.
Its behaviour is unpredictable when fired in a corner since the mathematics chaos theory is true.

i agree with this thread and have already touched on the point in other posts.

all of the changes made are going to require adjustment, but it's going to be extremely easy for the skilled players (who weren't whining, who were fine with the old patch) to adjust and own and very hard for the mediocre players (who wanted the patch because they were having trouble with the skilled players) to adjust. now it's easy to kill the chopper that was already balanced (should have a K/D ratio higher than infantry comparable to armor) - made a whole patch because of a handful of people that could do amazing things with the chopper and own everyone else. now those people won't be able to do that, but they'll be able to survive and rake in kills - while everyone else will get blown away from the mad rush of people going to the AA to pick up a free kill against the average player who got lucky enough to sit in the chopper. nice work!

"Since the experienced (AKA bunny hoppers/dolphin divers)."

B.S.
bunny hopping/dolphin diving required an absolute minimum amount of *manual* skill.
All you had to be able to do was spam 3 or 4 keys and keep enough aim to hit your target.

Since most people can't track erratic targets well enough, you were pretty much 70% invulnerable. Most bunny hoppers would close within 10 feet before even opening fire.

Now that they have removed the stamina exploit involved with bunny hopping, most of these guys are just meat. I went 116 earlier on karkand mowing these guys down from cover.

Now that they blow their whole stamina bar in 2-3 hops, I just wait till they are almost hopping in place like idiots and put a burst or two center-mass.

im unhappy that you cannot stand, shoot, prone, stand, shoot, prone etc etc etc which is annoying...and also you cannot hear from where you are being shot.

you mean prone spamming? yeah, that was bs. You realize they fixed that because there were people that hadhacks that would aut-prone them whenever anyone shot at them right?

If the experienced players manage to adjust to the game mechanics it's all fine with me. Now it is maybe finally the time for tactics and cooperation instead of just hammering some keys, wich is a skill of some sort too but one that dragged down the game experience for those who knew about it but felt silly to be a soldier jumping around the battlefield. Before this patch I considered reinstalling Operation flashpoint for its decent way of conducting combat but I really would have missed the nice parts of BF2 (respawning, flag capture). Maybe now it isn't UT fraggfest in contemporary uniforms anymore - it has become more "realistic" (mimics reallity more closely).

On hacks: I mean who is using hacks anyway and for what purpose. An aimbot? Nice all you have to do is pull the trigger and run around (maybe ther are hacks for running around too). Why do those guys play in the first case, why don't they go and watch TV if they don't want to take part actively.

My only problem with the patch is this...

When I try to jump over a small wall and fire a rocket at a tank without going over, it's impossible.  This means I'll day a lot more due to tanks.

Belx, I agree.  But on the otherhand, I've never seen footage on History Channel etc with an AT guy hopping to fire his rocket.  Yes yes, I know...it's not a war sim.  Still, it's a helluva lot closer than say, Quake or UT.  I'll miss being able to chunk c4 over a fence, hop and fire the AT etc, but so far, it's a welcome trade-off.
